Sicilian Craft Beer

Bruno Ribadi - Sicilian Craft Beer

BRUNO'S STORY
Bruno Ribadi is an eclectic and extravagant character from Cinisi, a seaside town close to the city of Palermo, in Sicily.
After the death of his parents, he grew up in a Benedictine abbey with a Belgian monk, from whom he learned about cereal fermentation and beer brewing.
Fascinated by this world, at the age of eighteen, he decided to leave the abbey and start a travel to discover the secrets of the best beers around the world. His adventures, discoveries and experiments are noted in a diary, that is now the main source of inspiration for the Bruno Ribadi beers and products.

BRUNO’S TRAVELS

In Prague, posing as a reporter from a well-known periodical, Bruno interviews some famous brewers with the aim of discovering as many secrets as possible.
During one of these interviews, he meets the famous Hubertek Morszynsky and he decides to join him in his laboratory experiments in India, learning the secrets of spices and meditation.

When Bruno’s interest in the ascetic life is lost, he meets a group of English musicians and decides to follow them in London. Once there, he keeps on experimenting new processes in a small brewery and he starts earning his living as a bus driver. One normal working day, Bruno spots the Belgian monk from Cinisi among the passengers. The monk is in London for a short holiday, and Bruno tells him the story of his travels and the details of his experiments: he is so intrigued, that he decides to invite Bruno to Belgium to share his discoveries.

When in the abbey, Bruno gives a very long speech using words from all the European languages: it is a great success and he is proclaimed brewmaster. After this accomplishment, he leaves Belgium and returns to Sicily where he would like to open his own brewery.

However, Bruno is a free explorer and his “wanderlust” leads him to leave again. There has been no news about Bruno since that day: all that remains is a journal narrating his travels, findings and experiments in the laboratories of the greatest brewers.
